Courtesy of Silverlode Interactive, Saga is a free-to-play MMORTS that also features city-building and trading card games on top of the real-time strategy elements. Set in a world of medieval fantasy, players in Saga will lay the foundations of their civilization and watch as it grows from timid village to mighty kingdom. Players will also decide which side they will choose in an ongoing war between the forces of Light and Dark. But there’s more to Saga than simple city-building. Players must not only gather resources, but they must also complete quests in order to gain new and specialized units and resources. With these at their disposal, players will not only build a mighty kingdom in Saga, but also a fierce army to protect it as well. The combat system of Saga allows players to counter their enemy’s moves in real-time, setting up defensive formations in order to repel enemy attacks. Furthermore, the equipment of fallen foes can be taken in order to further customize one’s own army. And if players feel like they’re being overwhelmed in Saga, they can always call on a friend to come and aid them in battle. If nothing else, Saga offers a unique mix of genres that will give players much to contemplate as they make their way through the game.
