Dungeon Crawler games like Diablo have a surprisingly addictive quality to them, despite being based around repetitive hack and slash gameplay mechanics. Published by the Korean company Webzen, Mu online, a free to play MMORPG, had 12 years to hone its game content, and a large community to provide input as to what they would like to see inside the game. Following other games in the same genre, the base fundamentals are simple: Slay hordes of monsters of various strength in order to complete missions, gain exp. and acquire new equipment and items. Being a free-to-play game, some content is locked and can be purchased through the cash shop, including two of the classes available. There are five other classes to choose from, including Dark Wizard and Elf. Like most games, each class has its own unique skills and equip-able items. One insane feature of Mu Online is the level cap. Normally MMO games have a level cap of 50-100, but Mu Online decided to stray from the pack and make it 400. With 12 years of content and 400 levels to grind through, you will always have something to keep you busy with Mu Online. One unique feature of Mu Online is its PK/PVP system. Player Killing can be annoying to deal with in some MMO’s that allow it, Mu Online decided to put that into their game as well, but created the Outlaw system. The more you go around killing other players, the higher your Outlaw level becomes. Each level creates various disadvantages that they have to deal with. Also, when a player attacks someone else, they have to kill them within a certain time-limit due to a self-defense system.
