If you're looking for a game that puts a fun twist on the "building the world" genre, then you're definitely going to want to take a look at The Colonists. For with this game, you don't play as a group of humans trying to survive, you play as robots, who just so happen to want to be human. Doesn't that sound like fun? The Colonists was actually inspired by similar titles like The Settlers and the Anno series, so if you enjoyed those franchises and titles, you're definitely going to enjoy this one! So, what do you do? Simple, you'll be put in control of self-replicating robots. Now, you didn't build these robots per se, but rather, they have escaped from their former world in order to try and make a new life for themselves. Where did they escape from? Earth, of course. They want to be human, but they can't stand the humans they were with, and thus, you have to help them on their path to build their own society and become human...if you make it that far. Like all good settlement games, you'll start with the bare minimum. Use the world to the best of your abilities, then transcend into different ages with different technologies and new ways to grow. You'll need to be smart, you'll need to make a complete society, but what kind is up to you. Do you prefer peace?
